BRENNEMAN, Vernon-Peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family at the Stratford Rotary Hospice on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Vernon of Gadshill in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Norma (nee Schmidt) for 60 years. Loving father of the late Cheryl (2016) and Mike Weber, Bonnie and her husband Murray Zehr, Rose and her husband Calvin McCallum and Rick and his wife Kelly. Dear grandpa of Alex, Katie, Becky, Amy, Alden, Finn, Jake, Ally and their spouses. Great grandpa of Tyson, River, Emmerson, Miles and Morgan. He will be sadly missed by his sister Laura Nafziger, sisters and brothers-in law; Eva Schneider, Mary and Bruce Brenneman, Jean and Lloyd Erb as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ezra Brenneman and Emma Gerber, sister Norma Nafziger and brothers and sister-in law; Murray and Maynard Nafziger, Clendon and Ruth Kuepfer and Don Schneider. Vernon spent most of his life farming on Hutchison Road at Crosshill until retiring to Gadshill. He was a self-taught guitar player who loved playing bluegrass music with the Greenwood Hill Band. Friends may call at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral services will be held at Poole Mennonite Church, 6477 Perth Road 121 on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. Pastor Fred Redekop officiating. Interment to follow at Rush's Cemetery, Crosshill. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Stratford Rotary Hospice would be appreciated.
