FRIEDMANN, Vera Magdalena (nee Bossence). February 26, 1936- November 23, 2015. Surrounded by her loving family, it is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Wife, Mother, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. Vera is survived by her lifelong partner and devoted husband of 58 years, Edwin. Loving Mother to son Dave (Donna); daughters Vicki MacKenzie (Rod), Beth Wood (John), Sandi Albrecht (Brian), Julie Jones (Jeff), Lori Sebben (Steve). Cherished Grandma to Nick, Sammi (Luke); Kyle (Beth), Jordan; Megan, Tara (Thomas); Jenna (Mike), Alex; Darci, Carli & Shay; Steph, Ted, Jill & Leah; Great-Grandma to Logan, Tyssen, Madison, Sage & Lily. Vera is also survived by 3 sisters; Shirley Fischer (Fred), Carol Wing (Gerry) & Diane Boeve (Jerry); sister-in-laws Nora Rogers & Betty Bossence. Lovingly remembered by Theresa Friedmann, Mary Reid, Mary Friedmann, Frank & Florence Friedmann & numerous nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas & Lena Bossence, and her in-laws Simon & Mabel Friedmann; her brothers Johnny & Lloyd Bossence; her sisters Barbara Schneider & Vivian Greenley; brother-in-law Colonel Schneider. Also brother-in-laws Jack, Wally, Donny & Phillip Friedmann, Don Reid, Wilbur Caskanette; sister-in-laws Doris Friedmann, Patricia Friedmann & Anne Caskanette.
Vera was born in Newton but spent most of her life in Linwood, dedicated to being a caring wife & mother, staying at home to raise her family. She was a member of St. Mary's RC Church and a lifelong member of the Catholic Women's League. Vera enjoyed golfing & shopping, as well as being an avid card player. She had a love of horses...and ice-cream. Vera was a resident of Barnswallow Place (formerly Leisure World) in Elmira for the last 2 years, where she was lovingly cared for by the amazing staff in Robin's Grove.
Vera's family will receive relatives & friends at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Thursday November 26th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. On Friday, November 27, 2015 a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement RC church, St. Clement's at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Barnswallow Place - In Memory of Vera Friedmann.
