Obituary

PENNY, Thomas William-On Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 74, Tom passed away suddenly while on a hunting trip with very good friends. As a young man, Tom left his home in Cape Breton and travelled to the Waterloo Region. It was here that he met Brenda who would become his wife and best friend for 50 years. Tom is predeceased by his son Jim, his mother Mary (nee Neary) and father Leonard. Currently residing in Wellesley, Tom will lovingly be remembered by his wife Brenda (nee Barrett), son Tom (Teena), and daughter Julie (Gord). "Papa" will also forever be remembered by his six grandchildren Jessica, Wesley, Emily, Connor, Macy and Brigid. Tom will sadly be missed by his three sisters Rita (Mike), Donna, Mary and brother Leonard. Always enjoying the friendships made with Brenda's siblings Tom will forever be missed by Margaret (Rich), Fred (Pat), Doug (Bridget), Linda (Randy). He was predeceased by Bruce (Pat). Tom always brought a fun spirit with him to family gatherings that will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Tom's best buddy Amos is waiting patiently for him to come home. For Amos, the warm meals prepared especially for him and the trips to the Wellesley dog park will not be the same without Tom. A visitation will be held at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Feel no guilt in laughter, he'd know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to.
He'd hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,
That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here,
And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart
And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.
