Obituary

PADRON, Teresa Elizabeth Mantero-
Born March 5, 1946 Died January 1, 2021.

Returned to the presence of her Heavenly Father peacefully in her home accompanied by her loving husband Walter Padron.

Teresa was born to Alfredo Vicente Mantero and Eugenia Pura Colman in Montevideo, Uruguay and was the oldest daughter of her six siblings , Alfredo, Romulo, Julio, Roberto, Delia and Marianella. She married her teenage sweetheart Walter Padron in 1968. Mother to 6 children Eduardo, Alejandro and Gabriela who were born in Uruguay and Michelle, Walter Jr. and Claudia who were born in Canada where Teresa has lived since 1978. Grandmother to Gabriel, Natalie, Samantha, Mathias, Tomas, Letecia, Sophia, Lurenz, Lucas, Karson, Christian, Jordan, Elena, Soleil, Sean-Lazaro, Teresa Mia, Kostas, Madison.

Teresa was a caring and helpful daughter who helped her parents raise her brothers and sisters. She was always close to Heavenly Father and followed closely her Christian faith which opened the way for her to recognize the true gospel of Jesus Christ when missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knocked on her door in Montevideo. At church she overcame her timidity and fear of public speaking in order to serve in the Lord's work where she held various calling in the Relief Society. These callings gave her the opportunity to serve others which is something she excelled at.
Mom was happiest while in the service of others, whether her parents and siblings as a young woman or to her husband, her mother-in-law who she took loving care of or her children. She had the opportunity to travel the world and everywhere she went she was loved and received with open arms.

A private family service will be held at a Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 followed by interment at Meadowvale Cemetery.
