HOFFMAN, Ruth-Peacefully at Derbecker's Heritage House in St. Jacobs on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in her 83rd year. Sadly, missed by her children Robert (Ronda) Lichti of Stratford, Shirley (Darrell) Ropp of Wellesley and Carolyn (Jeffrey) Mueller of Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Grandmother of five grandchildren and great-grandmother of 8. Predeceased by her husband's David Lichti and Lloyd Hoffman and two grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Emmanuel Kennell and Sarah Gerber, her brother Joseph Kennell, sister in law Tillie Kennell and brother in law Frank Hoffman. Missed by Lynne Hoffman, Alvin Kennell, Barbara Kennell and Mary and John Baan. Ruth shared ownership with her husband Lloyd with Lloyd Hoffman Sand and Gravel for 36 years. Ruth loved to quilt and make comforters for her family, she also loved to crochet. Special thank you to the amazing staff at Derbecker's Heritage House for taking care of Mom, Dr. Whitby, St. Jacobs United Church Outreach Program and a special thank you to Janette Goertz and her family for being Mom's special friend. I would also like to thank Chris Franklin and Pastor David Hammer for helping me with arrangements for my mother's funeral. A private family service will be held at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home in Wellesley followed by interment at First St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery with her husband Lloyd. Donations may be made out to charities of one's choice.
