HAMMER, Robert Edward-of Wellesley, Ontario died peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in his 85th year with family members at his side. He is remembered with great love by his wife, Elaine (nee Faulhafer) whom he married on November 1, 1952 and with whom he celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage. Loving father of their seven children and their spouses, Robert Hammer (Rita), John Hammer (Janet), David Hammer (Susan), Nancy Richard (Maurice), Susan Mak (Gordon), Peter Hammer (Sharon), Cathy Lindner (Bradley). Fondly remembered by his twenty grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and brothers Frank Hammer (Elaine), George Hammer (Rosita) as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Reinhold Hammer and Lillian Hammer (nee Forrest). Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest, enjoying a career as a teacher, farmer, equipment dealer, and golf course operator. He and Elaine enjoyed travelling, leading several tours throughout the world. He will be missed by many of his former students, customers and friends, but especially by his family to whom he was such a great provider and teacher of love through actions. A celebration of life service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1123 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. Cremation has taken place with interment to follow at a later date. Donations to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
