Richard William Dietrich
1949-2025-
Passed away after a brief illness at WRHN at Queen (SMGH) on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 76. Dear brother of Mark Dietrich of Kitchener, Paul and Anita Dietrich of Wellesley, Marg and Walter Hinsperger of Stratford, Catherine Dietrich of Kitchener, Leona and Wayne Henhoeffer of Ayr. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Predeceased by his parents William B. and Oliva (Zettel) Dietrich, brother Fred Dietrich and Barb, brother Tom Dietrich and Joan, sister-in-law Marjorie Dietrich.
Richard (Ricky) lived at home with his parents till 30 years of age. He resided at Oxford Regional Institution for 9 years. He moved to his forever home, Boettger Place in Waterloo in 1989 where Ricky flourished with the love and care of the team from KW Habilitation. He was an active participant in Adult Developmental programs. He was friends to many. He enjoyed music, get togethers, dances and parties. Ricky was a loveable guy, always ready to smile and give a hug when needed.
Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Richard at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Agatha Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Agatha Cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall.
