ASHTON, Mildred Caroline-Surrounded by her family at Stirling Heights Long Term Care, Cambridge, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mildred (nee Wardell) of Breslau at the age of 76 years. Beloved wife for 61 years to Michael. Loving mother of Barb and Steven Henderson, Michael and Michelle Ashton, Carrie Ashton and Christopher and Kimberly Ashton. Dear grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brother Judy (Tom Howie), Lois Kelly, Helen Wardell, Henry Wardell, Florence (Calvin Wareham), brother-in law Bill Ashton (Leslie) and Shirley (David Bowles) as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Leslie Wardell and Dorothy (nee Robb) and brother Glen Wardell. Mildred loved spending time with her family, cooking and was a people person. Always putting others first. Cremation will take place and a family memorial service will be held at a later date. Special thank you to the caring staff at Stirling Heights and to the "Coffee Guy" for going above and beyond.
