Obituary

GILMORE, Marion Alice- January 14, 1935 – August 24, 2021. Passed peacefully on Tuesday Morning leaving behind her Loving Husband of 65 years H. Leroy Gilmore and her 3 children and spouses Douglas and Kathleen (Roman) of Kitchener, David and Marianne (deLeeuw) of Owen Sound and Lori and John Yates of Calgary. Her 4 Grandchildren - Jennifer, Kate and Riley Damen, Anne and Ryan Walsh, Lindsay and Kurtis Arsenault and her 4 Great-Grandchildren Dexter, Briella, Landon and Alice. Predeceased by her Brothers Leonard and, Eugene Cook and Sister Audrey Gilks (Cook). She will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law Ruth Cook, and her friends and staff at the Westhill. Marion was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She enjoyed and produced works of art through her rug hooking and was a member of the Kitchener Rug Hooking Guild. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed Cruising. Marion's greatest joy later in life was Skype calls to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the Palliative care unit at Freeport for their care and concern during her time there. Cremation has taken place and a family Memorial Service will be held at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Monday, August 30, 2021, with Pastor Olaf Poulsen officiating. The interment of ashes will follow at Rush's Cemetery, Wellesley. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
