Obituary

WAGLER, Lester Jacob-Lester Jacob Wagler, 79, of Wellesley, passed away peacefully, into the arms of Jesus with his family by his side at Mississauga Hospital, on Monday, September 29, 2014. He was born in East Zorra Township on May 27, 1935, a son of the late Joseph and Druscilla Mae (Ruby) Wagler. He is survived by his beloved wife Laura Ann (Schwartz) who he married at Crosshill Mennonite Church on August 18, 1956. They have enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. Loving father of Randy and his wife Mary Lou (Sauder), their children Trent & Kerry Wagler (Tori & Tanner), Jared Wagler & Katharine Henke (Ada, Eli & Lea), Shane Hallman, Melissa & Todd Metzger (Matthew, Katie, Ryan & Ben); Heather and her husband Stephen Nafziger, their children Jaime & Thomas Jacomen (Mya, Molly & Macy); Juanita and her husband Grant Nafziger, their children Thomas & Alycia Nafziger and Travis Nafziger; and Stephanie and her husband Marshall Roth, their children Nicholas, Chantel and Alexander Roth. Dear brother of Leander Wagler, Betty and Wallace Roth, Delphine and Lorne Zehr, Cecil and Reta Wagler,Herb and Shirley Wagler, Marlene and Edward Schwartzentruber, Keith and Ruth Wagler. Also remembered by brothers and sisters-in-law Irene Kennell, Florence and Lorne Metzger, David and Carol Schwartz, Wayne and Mary Jane Schwartz. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Doris and her husband Seranus Kropf, sister Bernice and her husband Floyd Brenneman, sister in-law Beatrice Wagler, brother in-law Douglas Kennell, brother in-law Wilmer Roth, parents in-law David and Esther Schwartz and great-granddaughter Kiera Wagler. Lester was a faithful member of Crosshill Mennonite Church, serving the Lord in many leadership roles. He appreciated and loved his church family. Skilled as a Refrigeration Mechanic, Les was a loyal employee at Zehrs Markets for 27 years. His quiet nature and quick sense of humour was treasured by his family and friends. Much loving time was spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation at Crosshill Mennonite Church, 2537 Hutchison Road, Crosshill, on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm, and Thursday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral service held at Crosshill Mennonite Church on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 2:30 pm. Interment to follow at Rush's Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or M.C.C. Arrangements entrusted to Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, Wellesley.
