NORMAN, Joseph Leon-Joseph "Joe" Leon Norman of New Hamburg passed peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Nithview Home at the age of 82. Joe formerly resided at the C.N.I.B. in Hamilton and later at Millwood Manor in Kitchener. Born in Wellesley on Saturday, February 2, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles Norman and Harriet (nee Erb). Surviving are three siblings; Richard Norman (Joy), Violet Stroh (Albert) and Mary Salzman (Kenneth). Predeceased by his sisters and brothers; Evelyn Bassam (Alf), Wilfred "Smokey" Norman (Nancy), Stanley Norman (Veronica), Harold Norman (Bernice), Miriam Zettel (Otto), Leonard Norman (Jenny), Harriet Allingham (Robert), Reuben Norman and Ralph Norman (Shirley). Joe lost his sight to glaucoma at the age of 3 months and miraculously taught himself to play the piano and entertained as much as he could with his love of music. Joe's passion was to listen to all baseball and hockey games on the radio. Joe will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A private family interment will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Hampstead Cemetery.
