Cook, John Frederick January 25, 1929 – February 22, 2019. Passed away peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge on Friday, February 22, 2019 with his devoted wife of over 64 years, Hazel (Tennant) at his side. Loving father to Carol (Scott) Dawson and Shelley. Loving grandfather to Chelsea and Chantal Cook, Candice (Matthew Dost) and Natasha (Josh Reiber). Proud great grandfather to Nova, Dominic and Lincoln John. Will be sadly missed by Mildred Searth, the sister he never had. Survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Hale, Phyllis (Murray) Betts, Marion Heise, Cerise Clarke, George Tennant, Judy Tennant and Audrey Tennant. Predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law Louise Felker, Ted (Grace) Tennant, Richard, Morris (Joan), Evelyn Tennant, Charlie Tennant, Burt Hale, Bob Clarke and Fred Heise. As well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father and mother David and Anna (Foerster) Cook. Also predeceased by brothers Norman (Violet) Cook, and Roy Cook. John was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wellesley, Ontario. In John's early years he worked for Hallman Sawmills in New Dundee, then spent his remaining years farming. John's passion in life was his farm, the land he cared for, and the family he raised there. There will be a visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1123 Henry Street, Wellesley followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Dave Hammer officiating. Spring interment in Rushes Cemetery, Wellesley. Thank you to the nurses, PSWs and care givers for their kindness as they cared for John during his illness.
