ROES, Jacob-Peacefully at Nithview Community, New Hamburg, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Jacob, formerly of Wellesley in his 85th year. Beloved husband of May (nee Erb) for 63 years. Loving father of Larry and his wife Susan, Rick and his wife Margaret, Jamie and his wife Carolyn. Dear grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters; Mahlon (Pearl), Eva Erb, Gerald (Diane), sisters-in-law and brothers-in- law; Lillian Kuepfer, Ella Mae (Delton Leis), Betty Lou (Kenneth Dechert), Marion Hergott, Ervin Erb, Wayne Erb (Reina), Eva (John Derrough), Paul Erb (Eileen), Vernon Erb (Marilyn), Barbara Ann Bage and Ivan Erb (Catherine) as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Noah Roes and Lydia (nee Lichti), brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; Earl Erb, Eldon Erb (Mary), Raymond Kuepfer and Harold Hergott. Jacob farmed for many years and then began to Pastor at Maple View, Glen Allan and Erie View Mennonite churches, retiring in 2000 and returning to Wellesley. Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Due to covid restrictions, those wishing to visit must RSVP at 519-656-2880. Visitors must remain in their cars till the visitation time, wear face masks and social distance. A family service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1 p.m. followed by interment in the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed, and the link will be provided on the funeral home website under Jacob's obituary. Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating.
