Helen Heise -
On Saturday, December 2, 2023, Helen Catherine Ann Heise (Cook) passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at home with family by her side.
She is survived by her loving husband Edward, with whom she celebrated 63 wonderful years. The cherished mother of Kevin, Dianne (Ed), David, and Pete (Susan). Beloved grandmother to Samantha, Ben, Emily (Daniel), Nickolas, Shaelyn, Joel, Samantha, and Sierra. Proud great grandmother of Malachi, Carson, and Evelyn. Helen was the dear sister of Doreen (late Harold Wagner) and sister-in-law Katherine Heise. Her family was her joy and she was always there to love and support them in every way.
Helen was kind, thoughtful, loving and generous and lived a blessed and fulfilling life. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband and her family. She loved music, theatre and festivals. She was an excellent cook and loved gardening and plants. Helen was always concerned about the people in her family, church and community and was there to help. Helen was gifted in many different arts and crafts, including quilting, cross-stitching and knitting. She took great joy in sharing her talents and loved creating unique and personal gifts for family and friends. Helen's Christian faith was central in her life. She was actively involved in First Saint Paul's Lutheran Church and the women's societies. She and Ed volunteered to build and renovate churches across Canada with Labourers for Christ. Her warmth and caring spirit have inspired us all and she will be dearly missed.
A special thank you to Dr. Fiona Clark and the palliative care team for their compassionate care. The family is grateful for meals and visits provided by the Mary Martha Society and to Pastor Andy Schroth for his spiritual support and prayers that gave Helen and Ed much comfort and strength.
