ERB, Harold M. 1929-2024-Suddenly and peacefully at his home at Greenwood Court, Stratford, on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 95 years. Born and raised on the family farm, he married his bride, Violet May Zehr in 1955. Loving father of Ken (Laurie), Karen Davidson (Brent), Fred (Vickie), Wayne (Sherry) and Ruth Hoffele (Steve). Dear grandfather of Tracy, Michelle and Luke Erb, Marcia, Faye and Kevin Davidson, Bethany and Justin Erb, Scott and Mandi Gingrich, Kirstie, Kelsey and Isaac Hoffele, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his brother and sister-in law Walter and Clara Zehr as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Moses and Mary (Steinman) Erb, brothers and sisters, Leona and Earl Paddington, Eva and Milton Kuepfer, Alvin and Annie Erb, Milton and Marjorie Erb, Wilma and Norm Kuepfer, father-in-law David Zehr, sister and brother-in law Maryann and Lincoln Lichti. Harold was an active member of Maple View Mennonite Church. He had been a board member of Tri-County Mennonite Homes, Businessmen's Fellowship, and Western Ontario Mennonite Conference Mission Board. He will be remembered for all his intricate wood carvings that he enjoyed making in his retirement. Friends may visit with the family at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the church on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The service will be live streamed. The link can be found on the funeral home website.
