LINDNER, George Astor-Peacefully in his sleep at Nithview Community in New Hamburg on Thursday, May 19, 2016, George formerly of North Easthope Township in his 90th year. Beloved husband of 64 years to Dorothy Jean (nee Martin). Loving father of the late Karen Beatty (1992), Byron and his wife Sharon and Brad and his wife Cathy. Dear grandfather of David Beatty, Matthew Beatty, Andrew Lindner (Marie), Robin (Brad Louwagie), Ben Lindner (Amber), Jordan Lindner (Cora), Zach Lindner (Kathleen) and Kate Lindner. Great-grandfather to Alivia and Laura Louwagie, Austyn and Corbin Lindner. He will be sadly missed by his brother Bill Lindner (Ruth) and his son-in law Kevin Beatty (Jean), sister-in law Doreen Baan, Ruby Lindner, Lorna Lichty, brother-in law Stan Player as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Andrew Lindner and Frieda (nee Koehler), sisters; Margaret (late Earl Koellner), Laurine Player, brothers; Wilfred (late Marie), Edward (late Doris), Milton (late Vera), Andrew, Austin and Conrad. George farmed in North Easthope on the Lindner homestead until he retired to Shakespeare in 1987 and was a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served in many capacities. He also served on the North Easthope Township Council and with the Perth Holstein Club. Friends may call at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street Wellesley on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1998 Line 45 (corner of Road 106), Gadshill on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. Cremation and interment at a later date.
