HAMMER, George-It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Hammer. He died peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at St. Mary's hospital surrounded by his family in his 81st year. He is survived by his wife Rosita, married for 51 years, his children Leticia, Anita (Gord), and Mark (Kelly), his four grandchildren Nathanial, Lillian, Samuel and Jenna, his brother Frank Hammer, sister in law Elaine Hammer and his many nieces and nephews. George was born on July 27, 1938, the youngest of three brothers, in Wellesley, Ontario to Lillian (nee Forrest) and Reinhold Hammer. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Hammer. He was a dedicated family man, spent many years working for the public school board and loved to travel. He was loved dearly by all his family and friends; and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Cremation will take place. Friends may visit with the family at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. A service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1123 Henry Street, Wellesley on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00 am.
