MOORE, Ernest "Ernie" 1939 - 2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest Moore at the Heritage Green Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in his 83rd year. Beloved and cherished husband and best friend of Georgie Moore. Sadly missed and much loved by his sister Diane Moore. Ernie was a loving and caring father to Peter (Heidi), Mathew, Catherine, Candace, Suzanne and Ricky. Loving grandfather to Sean, Caity and Jackson. Great-grandfather to Sloane and David. Special and much loved friend to John and Rhoda. Ernie was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Alice Moore who loved and was loved by Ernie. Ernie lived a life full of many experiences and careers including: a Professional Wrestler (aka the Executioner). For many years Ernie worked at the Hamilton Spectator and served as Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. The past several years, Ernie worked for Carman's Banquet Centre, among many other establishments as Security Technician. Ernie was known to all who knew him for his kindness and unselfish giving of himself to everyone including strangers. Ernie never had an unkind work to say about anyone friends and strangers alike. Ernie's family are very thankful to the kindness and caring given to him from the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home during the past 4 months. Visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 701 Stone Church Road E., on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the church. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family are requesting donations to the Mission Services, Salvation Army and the Diabetes Association.
