WAGNER, Elmer John-Peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Esther (nee Wagner) for 62 years. Loving father of Donna and James of Wasaga Beach, Sharon and Paul of Goderich, Richard and Ellen of Calgary, Paul and Nancy of Waterloo, John and Nikki of Delhi, Jean and Jeff of Corbyville and Marie and Michael of Waterloo. Dear grandfather of Heather, Jonathan (Patti), Peter, Samantha, Jason, Joshua (Laura), Philip, April (Ken), Chet, Lane, Tess, Rebecca, Nicholas, Dana, Tiffany, Tyler, Christina and Connor, and great-grandfather of Nathan, Rylan, Gavin, Cienna and Kendralyn. Elmer was born and raised on a farm in Wilmot Township and continued to farm for 60 years. He also worked at Canadian Tire for the last 25 years before retiring in 1990. He was a faithful member at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, throughout his entire life, where he served on several committees. A quiet, hard working and unassuming man, in his retired years he especially enjoyed time with his family and friends, travel, a game of golf, bowling and curling. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Elmer with his family at the FUTHER-FRANKLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1123 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
