SCHMIDT, Ella Mae (nee Jantzi) 1932-2025
Peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Peaceful Meadows Retirement Residence in Brunner. Ella Mae was in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late John Wagler (1989) and the late Elmer Schmidt (2005). Loving mother of Eleanor Hoover (Cleason), Daniel Wagler (Marlene), and John's children the late Raymond Wagler (late Margaret), Norma Kuepfer (late Levi), Harold Wagler (Nancy), Eva Erb (David), Mary Erb (Delmer) and Elmer's daughter the late Barbara Ann Kuepfer (Roy). Dear grandmother of 38 grandchildren, 116 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her sister Mary Kathryn Gerber (late Mahlon) and brother Murray Jantzi (Karen), sister-in law Norma Mast (late Melvin Jantzi & late Elmer Mast). Predeceased by her parents Rudy Jantzi and Sarah (nee Steckly), 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, her brother Jacob Jantzi (Mary) and sister Alice Jantzi. Friends may visit with the family at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, 4831 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley on Friday at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The ministry of Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church officiating. Donations to CAM, MIM or a gift to Peaceful Meadows would be appreciated.
