1923-2025
At Nithview Home on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in her 102nd year. Dorothy was a devoted and loving Mother to Elaine (John) Mohr and Larry (Elsie) Lantz. Cherished Grandma to Krista (Nick) Beamish, Kevin Mohr, Jenna (Gavin) Brown-Jowett, Kris (Nicole) Lantz, Jason Lantz, and 5 Great-Grandchildren: Clara, Jack, Oliver, Kayla and Mason. Survived by 3 Sisters-in-law Violet Luckhardt, Marion Luckhardt and Marjorie Coulthard. Dorothy is reunited with her husband of 73 years, Elmer Lantz (2022), daughter Joanne (2015), son Paul (2025), grandson Jonathan (2012), parents Allan and Clara Berg, brother Lloyd Berg, Sisters and Brothers-in-law Esther and Weybourne Hoerle, Ruth and Walter Doering. Also predeceased by in-laws Floyd and Ruth Lantz, Harold and Mildred Lantz, Loretta and John Horst, Doreen and Bill Rose, Shirley and Russel Bigam, Lavern Keller, Mervyn Luckhardt, Bob Luckhardt and Bruce Coulthard. Dorothy was born 101 years ago on August 17, 1923, on a farm on Greenwood Hill, Wellesley. She was the last surviving member of her family. She and Elmer raised their family in the village of Wellesley and moved to Nithview Retirement Home in 2015. Dorothy excelled at gardening, cooking, knitting, crocheting and sewing many quilts for her family in her quilting room in her Wellesley home. She volunteered many hours piecing and sewing quilts with her church friends at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, where she was active in the ELW. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and nurses at Nithview Home for their wonderful care that Mom received. Visitation to be at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 1 p.m. till 2 p.m. followed by funeral service and interment. Pastor David Hammer officiating.
