David Lorne Schmidt

February 8, 1961 – March 28, 2024

SCHMIDT, David Lorne; aged 63, passed away into the arms of his loving Saviour, surrounded by the love of his family at home in Wellesley following a 5-year health journey. Devoted husband of Norma (nee Jantzi) and loving father of Delores & Nathan Graybill, Walter & Miriam Schmidt, Dorothy Schmidt, Verna Schmidt, Wilfred & Dorcas Schmidt, Kathryn & Trevor Gerber, Roger Schmidt, Charlotte & Michael Gerber, and Richard Schmidt. Loving grandpa of Jayden, Alayna, Kyson, Serenity & Malaya Schmidt, Naamah, Isaiah, Keilah, Zibiah, Jephthah & Junia Gerber, and Carson, Hailey & baby Gerber. Sadly missed by father-in law Ohmer Jantzi; his brothers & sisters; Anna Mae & Ivan Kuepfer, Kathryn Schmidt, Ronald & Elizabeth Schmidt, Lloyd & Sharon Schmidt, Sharon & Joe Gerber and brothers & sisters-in law Merlin & Darlene Jantzi, Earl & Darcee Jantzi, Harold & Michelle Jantzi, Ronald Jantzi, David & Josie Jantzi, Barbara & Elam Martin, Rosanna Jantzi, Edgar & Gigi Jantzi. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents Lorne & Mary Schmidt, brother Ralph Schmidt, sister Reta Steckly, mother-in law Esther Jantzi and sister-in law Marlene Jantzi in infancy. Visitation will be held at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, 4831 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley, on Sunday from 6-9 pm, and Monday 1-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Cedar Grove A. M. Church on Tuesday April 2, 2024, at 1 pm. Followed by interment in the church cemetery. The ministry of Cedar Grove A.M. Church officiating.
