PRICE, Claris Icilda - Our beloved Claris Icilda Price (Donald), age 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 9th, 2022, at Peel Manor Nursing Home, Brampton. She will be sadly missed by her family: children Marcia Murray and Louis Price, sister Victoria Lashley, grandchildren Damali, Xavier, Jemar, Malcom, Desmond, Elvis, Lasimba, Donald, and Joshua, great granddaughters Zakiyah, Zainna, Zendayah and JarD'nae. Predeceased by her daughter Carolyn Stanley, her siblings Daisy, Oswald and Fitz Bennett and sister-in-law Uranus and nephew Victor. Forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and Church family members. Claris was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica to Percival and Ethel Maud Donald and raised in a deeply religious family. She completed her education and then immigrated to England in 1952 to study nursing. Claris married, had 3 children and changed careers to office administration. In 1972 the family immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, where she quickly got a job at McMaster University where she remained until her retirement. Claris was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an enshrined member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and volunteered for many years at the Good Shepard Centre, Hamilton. Claris loved to garden, travel, and spend time with family and friends enjoying a good meal especially if there was a delicious dessert to be had! A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff on Broddyway floor, Peel Manor LTC for your unwavering exceptional and loving care of Claris. Please keep safe. Mum, Nanny, Claris - RIP until we meet again, missed, and deeply loved forever. Friends may visit with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10062 Bramalea Road, Brampton on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Due to Covid protocols, all those wishing to visit must RSVP by calling the funeral home at 519-656-2880. Masks and physical distancing are required. Funeral services will be held in the church on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. with Bishop Ken Macken officiating. Interment to follow at Brampton Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations to the Good Shepherd Centre, Hamilton, would be appreciated by the family.
