GERBER, Allan Nelson-Passed away peacefully at his home in Wellesley, with family by his side on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Allan was born 93 years ago in North Easthope Township, a son of the late David and Barbara (Ropp) Gerber. Loving husband for 69 years to Merle (nee Brenneman). Cherished father of Bonnie (Hans Mensch), Roger Gerber (Judy), the late Barry Gerber (2021), Brad Gerber (Kim), Randy Gerber (Jayne), and Lori (Daryl Douglas). Special grandfather to Ryan (Nicole), Brock, Nolan (Catrina), Ashley (Justin), Matthew, the late Megan, Taylor (Taylor), Kelsey, Tyler as well as his great-grandchildren Owen, Brayden, Blake, Colton, Nash, Carter, Myles, Walker, and Logan. Will be sadly missed by his sister Katie (late Nelson Roth), sisters and brothers-in-law Beulah, Joyce and Danny, Donna, Keith and Marilyn, Karen, Carol and Jim, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Robena (Ken), Esther (Allan), brother Melvin and brothers-in-law Ronnie and Ken. 

Allan and Merle lived and farmed in Nithburg for over 50 years before moving to Wellesley. He enjoyed watching and participating in various sports teams, where he met many people who became lifelong friends. He lived his faith and was an active member at Tavistock Mennonite Church. 

Friends may call at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Tavistock Mennonite Church, 131 Wettlaufer Street, Tavistock on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. Pastor Julie Ellison White officiating. Donations in Allan’s memory may be made to the Wellesley Food Cupboard or Tavistock Mennonite Church would be appreciated.
