OLDENBURGER, Albert-Passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Stratford General Hospital in his 88th year. Loving husband to Johanna (nee Veldhoen) for 66 ½ years. Loving father of Janet and Delmar Schultz, Walter, Dick and Marg, Dave and Connie, Joanne and Dennis Gerber. He will be sadly missed by his 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren as well as his sisters Baukje Vanderveen and Wobbie Sluiskes (Gerrit). Predeceased by his parents Wopke and Janke (Westerhof) Oldenburger, his daughter Hilda, sister Jean and Weitze Douma and brother-in law Abraham Vanderveen. Albert enjoyed gardening and strolling the streets of Wellesley with his wife Johanna. He was a retired employee of Master's Feeds in Baden and then helped clear the snow off local sidewalks. He took care of the landscaping at the Pond View community for over 15 years. Friends may call at the Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, 1172 Henry Street, Wellesley on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A family interment will take place at Rush's Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Road, Kitchener on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 2 p.m. Pastor Tom Bomhof officiating. If desired, donations to Laurentian Hills Christian School or the Cancer Clinic through the Grand River Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
