Passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 surrounded by family in his 90th year. Abner resided in Wellesley and was formerly of New Hamburg and Milverton. Loving husband of the late Mary (nee Gingerich) who passed away on January 19, 2017, whom he married on August 17, 1956. Beloved father and father-in-law of Mary Elizabeth and David Roth of Wellesley, Miriam and John Kuepfer of Millbank, Paul and Tanya Brubacher of Wellesley, Ruth and Dan Schrock of Wisconsin. Dear grandpa and great-grandpa of Eric and Julia Schrock and their children Aaron, Joel, Jordan and Annie; Tom and Danae Schrock and their children Zoey and Mason; Victoria and Alex Bauman and children Huxley and Bennett; Dallas and Kendra Roth; Vanessa and Jeremiah Johnson; Jessica Kuepfer and Mark Cullen; Megan and Max Brubacher and their son Felix; Jolene Kuepfer; Alyssa, Parker and Kylie Brubacher. Survived by sisters, brothers, sisters in-law and brothers in-law; Joan Brubacher, Marilyn Brubacher, Sid and Martha Brubacher, Sally and Wayne Martin, Manny and Mary Ellen Brubacher, Amzie and Doris Brubacher, Aden and Jan Brubacher, Mary Ann Brubacher, Peg and Rick Bauman. Predeceased by son James Brubacher, parents Menno Brubacher and Sarah Martin, brothers, sisters, brother and sisters in-law; Cleon and Cleason Brubacher, Mary Brubacher, Mabel Brubacher, Edna and Ray Bauman, Hank Brubacher and Elsie Brubacher. Abner was a faithful member of Faith Mennonite Church, Kingwood. He was an Ordained Deacon until his retirement at Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church, Millbank. Friends may visit with the family at Faith Mennonite Church, 1533 Chalmers Forrest Road, Kingwood on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the church on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Faith Mennonite Cemetery.
