NAU, Robert Charles-Passed away peacefully at his residence R.R.#1 Newton on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the age of 62 years. Beloved partner for 35 years of Diane Schweitzer. Loving father of Becky Schweitzer (Newton), Sherri and Wade Clark (Goderich), Charlotte Dicker (Nanaimo, B.C.) and son Robert Nau (Winnipeg, MB). Sadly missed by grandchildren Taylor, Courtney, Rielly and Nathanial. Survived by two brothers Jim Nau and Jayne (St. Marys), Philip and Trish Nau (London), two sisters Loralee Streicher (Millbank) and Carla Nau (Stratford). Also survived by his mother Barbara McNab, four step-brothers and two step-sisters (Vancouver Island, B.C.). Predeceased by his father Leslie, uncles Edward, Lloyd and his aunt Pearl who helped raise him. Bob worked in the scrap business all his life and for a time owned an auto wreckers in Logan Township. His passions were stock car racing and moose hunting. Having earned his pilot’s license gave him and others many enjoyable memories and that was his greatest passion. There will be no visitation at Bob’s request. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy. GIBSON, Paul V.-After a long battle with cancer at the Hamilton Continuing Care Centre, on Sunday, December 20, 2009 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Brackenbury). Loving father of Judi and her partner Crawford, Karen (Jim Currier) Allan and his friend Mary, Laurie and Janice (Robin Mueller). Dear grandfather of Katie and Adam Currier, Olivia and Andrew Mancini and Tye Mueller. He will be sadly missed by his sister Rhonda (Robert Ming) and sister in law June Gibson as well as his wrestling buddies. Predeceased by his brother Darrell. ERB, Frieda-Went to be with her Lord, with family by her side, at Greenwood Court, Stratford, on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in her 99th year. Born on January 5, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nafziger) Erb. Beloved wife of the late John G. Erb (2004). Devoted mother of Franklin and Jean Erb of Wellesley, Arnold and Annetta Erb of Brunner, Marjorie and Mervin Roth of New Hamburg, Helen and Henry Streicher of Heidelberg and Jean Ann and Cameron Jutzi of Kitchener. Proud and loving grandma to 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Frieda is also survived by her sister Marie Leis, by sisters-in-law Mabel Erb, Laura Nafziger, Katherine Erb, and brother-in-law Allen Erb and wife Norma. HAWTHORNE, Ferne-Peacefully at People Care Tavistock, on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in her 98th year. Born on October 28, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amelia (Dahms) McFaddin. Beloved wife of the late William Allan Hawthorne (1962). Ferne is predeceased by her three brothers, Glen McFaddin (2006), Charles McFaddin (1991) and Wilbert McFaddin (1996). She is survived by her sister-in-law Helen (Voll) McFaddin of Millbank, nephews Robert McFaddin, James McFaddin both of Millbank, William McFaddin and wife Corey of Waterloo and Douglas McFaddin of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also survived by nieces Connie Gonsalves and husband Hammond of London and Deborah Kay and husband James of Stratford. She will be fondly remembered by great-nieces Sarah and Darcy McFaddin of Waterloo and great-nephew Nathan Gonsalves of London. Ferne grew up on the 5th Line of Wellesley Township, later moving to the 7th Line. She taught elementary school at S.S. 6 Wellesley and later at S.S. & Wallace. Following her marriage to Allan, she assisted her husband in the operation of the Millbank Hardware until his death in 1962. Ferne continued to reside in Millbank. She attended the Millbank Knox-Wesley United Church, actively participating in the UCW. Ferne travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States as well as trips to Ireland, Japan, Korea, Finland and Sweden. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to visit wityh the family on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 10 a.m. till time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Millbank Knox-Wesley United Church officiated by Reverend Krista Vandersar. Interment will take place at the Millbank United Church Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
